Thomas Park Restructures Building Services Leadership Following Launch of J. Thomas Property Services

As Thomas Park continues expanding across both its investment portfolio and third-party management operations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, the company has continued evolving the operational infrastructure supporting its growing platform. 

Part of that evolution included the launch of J. Thomas Property Services earlier this year, introducing a new operational services business line focused on repairs, maintenance coordination, turnover work, small projects, and operational execution services throughout Maryland, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia. 

The launch created a major operational transition within Thomas Park Management’s building services and engineering teams, where longtime operational leaders Alex Landis and Curtis McClain had spent years working side-by-side supporting both the company’s owned portfolio and third-party management clients. 

Together, Alex and Curtis became known internally as trusted operational leaders helping oversee everything from engineering coordination and preventative maintenance to repairs, vendor management, field execution, and day-to-day operational problem solving across a rapidly growing portfolio of commercial properties. 

As J. Thomas Property Services launched as its own operating company, the organization began separating responsibilities across engineering oversight and operational execution in order to create more dedicated leadership structures across both divisions. 

As part of that transition, Alex Landis was promoted to Director of Engineering for Thomas Park Management, where he now oversees engineering operations across more than 7.5 million square feet under management. In his role, Alex leads building systems oversight, preventative maintenance operations, vendor coordination, and long-term engineering infrastructure across both the company’s investment portfolio and third-party management assignments. 

Known throughout the organization for his positive attitude, calm leadership style, and strong relationships with property managers, vendors, and operational teams, Alex has become an important part of the culture and operational consistency behind Thomas Park Management’s continued growth. Earlier this year, he was recognized with the 2025 Thomas Park Granite Award, an internal recognition honoring team members who embody the company’s culture, values, and leadership approach. 

At the same time, Curtis McClain stepped into the role of Director of Operations for J. Thomas Property Services, where he now oversees day-to-day field execution, repairs, operational coordination, scheduling, staffing, vendor management, and project delivery throughout the region. 

Known internally for being hands-on, dependable, and highly execution-oriented, Curtis has embraced the opportunity to help build a new operating company from the ground up as J. Thomas Property Services continues expanding throughout the region. His willingness to take on new challenges and grow alongside the organization made him a natural fit to help lead the company’s operational expansion.
