Typography Best Practices
✓ Use Montserrat Bold, ALL CAPS, for short headlines (1–3 words)
✓ Use Lora for longer, narrative headlines
✓ Use Montserrat Bold or Barlow Semi Bold for subheads
✓ Select one paragraph font per document (Barlow preferred)
✓ Apply tracking of 168 to all Montserrat text
✓ Maintain a clear hierarchy between headline, subhead, and body
✓ Keep font sizing and styles consistent throughout the document
✗ Don't use Montserrat headlines longer than 4 words
✗ Don’t forget to apply spacing (tracking 168) to Montserrat
✗ Dont mix multiple body fonts in one document
✗ Don’t mix alignments without intention
✗ Don’t overuse accent colors in text

CHART STYLE

MAP STYLE
Use simplified maps that highlight location, access, and context.
Base maps should be muted and minimal, with reduced detail and limited labels.
Prioritize roads, major routes, and water, removing unnecessary elements like points of interest, terrain detail, and excess text.
Two styles are used:
-
Monochrome maps for clarity and consistency
-
Muted satellite maps with a soft overlay for location context
Overlays should be clean and restrained:
-
Primary locations marked with a simple pin
-
Key roads subtly highlighted
-
Trade areas shown with light dashed radii
-
Sites identified with soft, low-opacity fills
Typography should be minimal and legible:
-
Short labels only
-
Clean callouts using Barlow
-
Light backgrounds with subtle contrast
